(x) Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R. (614816 Sjt. A.C.S. Mjr. - R. Mill, Lab. C.), good very fine

Robert Mill, a native of Edinburgh, first arrived in France on 11 January 1915, as an Acting Warrant Officer Class II in the 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots (his MIC refers). He subsequently transferred to the Labour Corps and was awarded his M.S.M. for 'distinguished services with the Armies in France and Flanders' whilst employed in 164th Prisoner of War (P.O.W.) Company (London Gazette 16 October 1919, refers).
