George Rogers was born at St. Dominick Callington, Cornwall in November 1861 and joined the Metropolitan Police at Great Scotland Yard in February 1886. Posted to 'H' Division, he remained similarly employed until transferring to 3rd Division in May-June 1887: his date of transfer occurred on eve of the commencement of the 'Jack the Ripper' murders in Whitechapel, which area fell within 'H' Division's domain. Rogers subsequently served in 3rd Division until being pensioned in February 1912; sold with copied discharge papers.
