E. B. Jones); Jubilee 1935, privately engraved, 'Edward Barnard Jones, Borough Treasurer, Bury'; Coronation 1937, privately engraved, 'E. B. Jones, Borough Treasurer, Bury'; Coronation 1953, mounted as worn from two wearing bars, the Great War campaign awards official late claims from the 1940s, generally very fine (7)

Edward Barnard Jones was born in Rochdale, Lancashire on 8 December 1891. Enlisting in the 1/1st Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry on the outbreak of hostilities, he was embarked for Egypt in November 1914. He was subsequently commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal West Kent Regiment in March 1918.

Having been appointed M.B.E. for his services as Borough Treasurer to Bury in January 1946, Jones was promoted O.B.E. for his services as Secretary of Cammell Laird and Company Ltd, Birkenhead (London Gazette 5 June 1952, refers). He died at Bury, Lancashire in March 1984, aged 92; sold with copied research.
