Alfred Arthur Kench was born at Paddington and worked pre-War for the Great Western Railway as a Ticket Collector at Paddington Station (The Great Western Railway in the First World War, refers). He served with the 13th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment during the Great War and was killed in action on 8 June 1917, aged 25. He is buried in the Voormezeele Enclosure No. 3, Belgium; sold with copied MIC confirming the above entitlement.
