Six: Lieutenant I. M. Evans, Welsh Regiment

British War and Victory Medals (Lieut. I. M. Evans); Territorial Force War Medal 1914-18 (Lieut. I. M. Evans, Welsh R.); Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Special Constabulary Long Service, G.VI.R., 1st issue, with Bar for 'Long Service 1944' (Chief Inspr. Illtyd M. Evans), together with bronze Royal Lifesaving Society swimming medal, the reverse inscribed, 'I. M. Evans, Dec. 1910', and a silver Hutton swimming medal, dated 1916, generally very fine (8)

Illtyd Moy Evans was articled to J. M. Evans of Swansea on enlisting in the 7th (Cyclist) Battalion, Welsh Regiment in August 1914. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in July 1915, he later transferred to the 13th (Service) Battalion (2nd Rhondda), in which unit he witnessed active service in France. Awarded the Territorial Force War Medal in AO 143 of 1920, he did not claim his British War and Victory Medals until August 1932. During the 1939-45 War, Evans was commissioned in the Royal Artillery and served on the home establishment at the Radar Wing School of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery; sold with copied research.
