Pair: attributed to Private J. Carbine, 81st Regiment

Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (J. Carbine), re-engraved naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue (J. Carbine), old engraved naming, both with original ribands and brooch-pins for wearing, toned very fine or better (2)

John Carbine was discharged to a pension in India in 1861, having also served in the Indian Mutiny (Medal). He presumably transferred to the 81st Regiment from another unit after the Crimea, since the regiment was not present in that conflict; sold with copied roll extracts.
