Khedive's Star 1882, the reverse engraved '408 Pte. J. Coyle 2.B. Sea. Highrs.', good very fine

James Coyle was born at Bonhill, Dunbartonshire, in 1860, and enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders in April 1879. Present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir in the 2nd Battalion (Medal & clasp), he later served in India before being transferred to the Army Reserve in 1891. He was finally discharged at Inverness in April 1894, when his conduct was described as 'irregular, indifferent and intemperate'; sold with copied service record.
