Inbound 1873 cover to Cartago from New York, franked with a United States 1870 Ten Cent Bank Note (centered into perfs. at left) which is tied by ""New York/Aug 20"" duplex postmark, sent ""Via Panama"" with manuscript endorsement on the Ocean Queen, upon reaching Aspinwall it was carried across the isthmus to Panama by Panama Railroad Company steamer to Puntarenas, and then overland to Cartago, there are miscellaneous accounting notes in red crayon and pencil at top suggesting Costa Rican accounting for postage due, however since the 1866 Decree discontinuing the use of Costa Rican stamps as postage due, there are no Costa Rican stamps present, fine; a wonderful and rare inbound cover to Co Estimate US$ 700-800
