#1, 1863 1/2r Blue, centered a bit to bottom, tied to a folded letter by largely complete boxed ""Cartago"" postmark of the style used in the pre-stamp era (CAR-Pmk5a), sent to San Jose, contents of letter datelined April 21, 1863 represents not only the earliest reported interior usage of a Costa Rica adhesive stamp, but it is also the earliest dated usage of any Costa Rican stamp, as such this is one of the most important of all the first issue covers found in the Mayer collection, entire quite clean, overall very f Estimate US$ 600-700
