American Bank Note Company salesman sample page containing a striking array of twenty-eight different plate proofs or trial color proofs of various stamps the ABNC printed and all neatly mounted in a 7x4 arrangement on a thick card measuring 210x149mm, each proof has a most unusual ""MUESTRA"" (Specimen) diagonal overprint in red, proofs include the 2c, 5c and 40c 1883 Issue of Costa Rica, other proofs of the same era include eleven U.S. related issues (including postage due and telegraph proofs), one 25c Hawaii proof (we have never seen this stamp before with a ""MUESTRA"" overprint), three Canadian proofs and ten other proofs from various Latin American countries, each with small manuscript numeral, blind embossed ""American Bank Note Co."" imprint to card at bottom left, very fine; the only such sample page we have ever seen; a wonderful exhi Estimate US$ 2,000-2,400
