Costa Rican Coat of Arms large die proof on India mounted on 75x102mm card, used by the American Bank Note Company as the model for the central vignette featured on the 1863 First Issues, just the faintest trace of pinpoint toning specks, very fine and extremely handsome; perfect for a frontispiece for a specialized collection or exhibit of Costa Rica; also accompanied by a large die proof of the Costa Rican flag engraved by the National Bank Note Company, mounted on full sized card measuring 153x228mm, couple of hinge mounting marks on face of card mounting (not the proof itself); ex-Scriba.
