#22, 1887 10c Orange, tied by 1888 Limon c.d.s. on cover to Bordeaux, France, with ms. ""pr. Atlas/via New York"" at top left, on the reverse is a label dated October 26, 1888 reading ""This letter is part of the mail recovered from the S. S. Atlas, from Port Limon, sunk in New York harbor by collision on the afternoon of the 23d instant/ Henary G. Pearson Postmaster"", the label actually being tied by the Bordeaux receiver, cover opened out for display, slight cover abraison on front causing a minor hole, fine; this is the only example of this shipwreck label we have ever Estimate US$ 700-800
