""Punta-Arenas"" spectacular illustrated handstamp (PUN-Pmk1) showing a detailed full sail brigantine on the ocean, with ""Punta-Arenas"" in negative type below, a marvelous complete and bold strike on a November 13, 1848 folded letter to San Jose, light vertical file fold just catching the left edge of the handstamp, couple of trivial insect holes filled in on the front panel, overall very fine and simply gorgeous; an immensely rare and desirable stampless marking of which only five are recorded, two of which are found in the Mayer collection (see ne Estimate US$ 1,200-1,400
