#3f, 1841 1d Red brown on deeply blued paper, block of four, large margins to touching top left stamp and at bottom center, tied by four strikes of Maltese Cross cancel of Whitechurch, Shropshire on cover to Shreswsbury, backstamped on arrival on September 9th, 1843, Whitechurch datestamp at upper left, very fine and scarce; this distinctive Maltese Cross cancel in not listed in S.G. Specialized but we are told it will be in the 2019 edition (Scott $1,100.00+; S.G. #8a).
