#1, #9, 1849 10c Bister in strip of three and 1f carmine, complete to large margins, tied to 1852 folded letter to New Orleans by numeral "898" in dots cancels, "Cognac/17 Fevr. 52" origin c.d.s., Boston exchange datestamp and "5" due marking alongside, light stain affecting the 1fr adhesive and vertical filing crease passing through one 10c; a fine and attractive cover featuring a rare combination to pay the 1fr30c rate to United States with involvement of British packet, in this instance carried by the "America" of the Cunard Line from Liverpool to Boston (Spink Maury €7,000 for a commoner combination).
