#1, 1849 10c Bister, a remarkably fresh pair, just touching in very small part of the margin at base, clear to large margins in other respects, tied by "petit chiffres" lozenges on dispatch, with matching Cognac c.d.s. at left of 12 may 1852 envelope to Saintes, showing arrival on reverse, few rust spots to cover not detracting from the great freshness; signed Calves and Roumet (Spink Maury €1,850).
