½d. yellow-green with additional row of perf. 11 at foot at base of design, used with 2d. reddish purple on 1908 Winstone Ltd. advertising envelope, originally franked at the 2½d. rate with meter marks, from Auckland to Capt. Klercker in Sweden and redirected to him c/o "The Honble Chanceller Legation of Sweden" in London, different Christianstad datestamps in blue for 7.10 and 8.10 on reverse. A most unusual ½d. stamp which is not recorded in C.P. or elsewhere. A remarkable cover to an unusual destination. Diamond page 192. Photo
Note: It has been suggested by the owner that the Foreign Mail Branch of the Post Office, who applied the adhesives in accordance with UPU regulations with meter marks being unacceptable for international mail, may have used stamps with errors of perforation to foreign destinations in the hope that they would escape recognition
