Assam, Rudra Simha (1696-1714), octagonal Rupee, 11.22g, Sk. 1629, normal rupee legends for this ruler, but very rare date (RB. F17.1; KM. 40), good very fine, very rare

Coins of year 1628 and 1629 are particularly rare and must have been struck in very small quantities. RB offers a possible explanation for this, which may have been to do with the military expedition against Kachar that took place at this time.
