1877 (7 Aug.) envelope to Algiers, marked "Via Liverpool & Marseilles", bearing 1d. lilac-mauve, 2d. blue (2) and 3d. chestnut, all cancelled by "L" in diamond of bars, showing red crayon "6½", "lagos/a" c.d.s. with red "paid/liverpool/br. packet/4g" (4.9), London Paid transit and Calais entry datestamps and, on reverse, clear arrival datestamp (10.9).
