1867 (29 Aug.) envelope to France, marked "Via Liverpool", bearing 1859-65 10c. bistre with good to large margins and 20c. pale blue (3, all marginal from the foot of the sheet), each clearly cancelled "asi" in diamond of dots, showing fine "cote d'or et gabon/assinie" c.d.s. alongside, framed "p.d." in red, "col. fr. angl./amb. calais" c.d.s. (3.10) and, on reverse, "commandant particulier d'assinie" circular cachet and arrival datestamp (4.10). A rare and attractive franking. Photo
