1876 (26 Oct.) envelope registered to Wolverhampton, bearing 1875 6d. orange (2) and 1876-79 1d. blue (4), all cancelled with "556" in oval of bars, showing red crayon "10", framed "registered" with red crayon "fee 4d" alongside, "paid-at-cape-coast-castle" c.d.s. (26.10), "paid/liverpool/br.packet" d.s. (28.11) with arrival c.d.s. (29.11) on reverse. A small cover with the stamps previously folded over the top edge, subsequently opened out for display and pressed, nevertheless a rare and remarkable franking, one of four recorded first issue covers.
