1873 (Jan.) envelope to Edinburgh, showing red crayon "3", a fine strike of " paid at cape-coast castle" c.d.s. without date, "cape-coast castle" c.d.s. and "paid/liverpool/br. packet" c.d.s. (7.2) with Edinburgh (8.2) arrival c.d.s. on reverse. Posted during the 'no contract mail' period, this is the only recorded cover with this combination of markings, and the only recorded example of the datestamp without date. Fine and unique. Photo
