II a lovely delicate impression and showing slight Plate wear, large margins all round, on entire, endorsed "p.pd." and "Haste", dated 6 July 1840 to Lanark, crisp red Maltese Cross cancellation in a vermilion-red shade and with framed "17" receiving office marking of Larkhall alongside. Extremely fine and surely one of the most beautiful Scottish Penny Post covers. Photo
