1869 (16 Dec.) entire letter from Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela (sender's cachet on front) to Trinidad showing blue crayon "3" and a fine strike of the straight-line "ship=letter" (type SP2) handstamp in red and, on the reverse, Trinidad double-arc arrival (21.12); two vertical filing folds (one through the handstamp). Believed to be the earliest of twenty one examples of the handstamp. Photo
