1848 (c.) entire to Dr. Andrew Murray in Bloemfontein during the Sovereignty period, marked "Prepaid" and rated "4pp"; although not dated it is identified as Sovereignty period through the rate of 4d. which was increased to 6d. when the country became a republic in 1854

Note: In 1849 Murray was given a Government post as Colonial Chaplain to the Orange River Sovereignty
