1875 Watermark Large Star
1877 (27 Oct.) neat envelope to France bearing 1d. green (2) with diagonal bisect and 1873 6d. orange-vermilion cancelled by indistinct strikes of Sauters "C" circular datestamp (the "27 OCT" is easy to read) with "1/0½" rate mark in red crayon, London Paid transit (29.11) and French transit whilst bearing, on the reverse, type D5 despatch c.d.s. and a second strike dated (6.11), Paris and arrival c.d.s. The stamps have been torn from the cover which has been professionally restored though still a magnificent and extremely rare cover. B.P.A. Certificate 2007). Photo
