1872 (8 Feb.) small envelope registered to London bearing 1d. bluish green strip of three on thick paper and 6d. vermilion cancelled "A15" and showing a readable strike of the straight-line "registered" handstamp in red with "128" in green crayon alongside, London Registered oval in red (26.2) and showing, on the reverse, a light strike of the type D5 despatch c.d.s. and London arrival; part of the address has been scratched out and one 1d. missing though still an attractive and highly important cover as only three covers bearing this registered handstamp have been recorded.
