Middle East Forces 1942 (16 July) censored airmail envelope from Asmara to Durban, bearing 1942 (2 Mar.) Type M1 3d., Type M2 square stops 2½d. and 5d. vertical pair with Types 2 and 2a se-tenant, all cancelled by Asmara c.d.s., censored at source with Crowned "548" handstamp in violet and subsequently with Italian label, Asmara Railway transit c.d.s. (17.7) on reverse; the envelope with tear at upper left and across flap, and minor faults in places though an exceptional franking with the 5d. se-tenant pair. B.P.A. Certificate (2012). S.G. M4, M8, M10b. Also, 1944 (17 Jan.) envelope to Benghazi, 1942 (20 Aug.) United States Air mail envelope and two 1945 Great Britain 3d. green G size registered envelopes to Egypt. Photo

Note: Only eighty-eight panes of sixty were overprinted with the combined Types M2+2a setting giving 1584 se-tenant pairs. The vast majority were separated with the survival rate of intact pairs very low
