1895 (9 May) Whitfield King & Co. envelope registered from Mombassa to Ipswich, bearing 4a. on 5d. dull purple and blue horizontal pair, each neatly cancelled with c.d.s., showing boxed "registered" handstamp in violet and London registered oval d.s. (2.6) and arrival c.d.s. on reverse (3.6). Fine and very attractive. Signed P. Holcombe and offered with his 1996 certificate.

Note: Of the 19 Whitfield King covers recorded, eleven bear 8a. frankings made up with 4a. on 5d. pairs, this being one of only four sent on 9 May 1895
