1840 (July 27) "The Drover" envelope, a pastoral scene, surrounded by ornamental scrolling, showing a drover taking his cows to the milking shed, printed in gold on front and reverse, endorsed "P1", with two Winchester c.d.s. and used to Newbury, fine red and black "Tien Ta Foy" seal on reverse; clean and uncreased. The only recorded used example. Believed to be the finest of the stampless pictorial envelopes. A spectacular Exhibition item. Photo
