1897 (22 Oct.) OHMS envelope (206x101mm.) registered from Eshowe to USA, bearing 1/- green with double-ring datestamp and showing London Registered oval datestamp (12.11) and US registration numbers, all on face, the reverse with Durban (23.10), New York (20.11) and Minneapolis (22.11) datestamps; minor cover and adhesive faults though a scarce franking to USA. Also 1897 (28 Nov.) opened out OHMS envelope registered from Eshowe to Mr. H.W. Richards of the Standard Bank in Johannesburg and re-directed to Mr. Thomas, showing double ring datestamp and, on reverse, Durban (4.11) and arrival (6.11) c.d.s.
