1834 (late) entire from missionary James Archbell when he was stationed at Thaba'chu, to London, carried privately where first placed in the post and showing "Crown" handstamp alongside Crowned "general post office/cape of good hope" handstamp, rated "1/4", the reverse with a fine red wax seal, framed "india letter/poole" and London datestamp (3.4); fine and very rare, being the second earliest recorded cover recorded from Transorangia. Note: The recipient's note makes note that the cover contained a "sketch of Mantatees Town", in all likelihood the original of which is now held in the Africana Museum, Johannesburg
