Definitive Issues
1951-52 Issue
7½d. blue, a lower left corner block of four with imprint, the left pair imperforate on three sides, fresh and fine mint. Extremely rare. The unique positional piece. S.G. 251a, £23,000+; BW 257b, $37,500. Photo
Note: One sheet purchased at a Sydney suburban post office early in 1952 had the first strike of the perforating comb omitted from the first vertical column of the left pane, resulting in ten stamps being imperforate on three sides. This pane was subsequently broken into five horizontal blocks of sixteen containing the error in a vertical pair. Two pieces have since been reduced to blocks of four
