Richard II (1377-99), Half-Noble, from altered dies of Edward III, 3.59g, mm. -/cross pattée, ric(over edw)/ard di gra rex angl [ ], saltire stops, king with sword and shield, facing, in ship, no ornaments, nails or mast, rev. domine ne in fvrore tvo argvas me, double saltire stops, ornate cross, r over e in panel at centre, all within tressure, trefoils in spandrels (N.1309; S.1664; Schneider 119 obv; Stewartby Ib), scuffed and creased, face weak, otherwise good fine, the alteration to the king's name clear and extremely rare
