Dudley Canal Navigation, handwritten transfer certificate for 11 shares, black and beige, printed on vellum, folds, three red wax seals, blue seal, original signatures. Dudley Canal Company was founded by an act in 1776. The canal was seen as part of a scheme to transport coal from coalfields near Dudley to Stourbridge, where it would be used for industry. Construction work was completed by 24 June 1779. Nowadays, the canal is part of the English and Welsh network of navigable inland waterways, and in particular forms part of the popular Stourport Ring narrowboat cruising route.Folds, very fine and very rare and no actual share certificates known to the market.
