S.A. des Forges & Acieries du Bazacle procedes Martin-Siemens, 500 francs share, 1877, no.0649, very pretty piece with ornate border depicting industrial scenes, steam train, steamship and factories, orange brown and pale blue, with coupons. Iron had been produced since the 18th century at Bazacle, near Toulouse. This company operated the new open hearth system invented by German engineer Carl Siemens and French engineer Pierre-Emile Martin which had been developed in 1865. Good very fine.
