Austrian subsidiary of the German J. Berliner, Telefonfabrik, founded in 1881 by Joseph Berliner (1858-1938). He invented and produced many new and groundbreaking products in the communication sector, like the "Universal Transmitter" and the automatic "Hebellinienwähler". In 1898, Berliner changed his company into the Aktiengesellschaft Telephon-Fabrik-Actiengesellschaft Hannover, vormals J. Berliner. In the same year, he also founded the record producer the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, with the world famous logo "His Master's Voice". In 1906, Berliner retired from his function in the Telephonfabrik.
