Similar to Germany, the Austrian-Ungarian Monarchy financed WWI solely through loan issuance and did not increase taxes, as it was generally expected that war would not last longer than six month. It was also expected that this loan would be the only war loan. It had a duration of 5 ½ years. The subscription generated a volume of 2.1 million Kronen. It was designed by Rudolf Junk (1880-1943). With print signature of k.k. Finance Minister Dr. August Freiherr Engel von Mainfelden (1855-1941).
