Commonwealth Oil Corporation Ltd., a pair of certificates, deferred ordinary shares, no.2300, and preferred ordinary shares, no.1703, both 190[9], the latter signed by Sir R.L.Harmsworth as director, ornate borders, black and pink respectively, printed by Waterlow & Sons. Formed to acquire shale oil lands in New South Wales and also built a railway to join the mines to the Government railway. Both with pin/staple holes on right side, VF. (2)

Sir Robert Leicester Harmsworth, 1st Baronet, 1870 - 1937, was a member of the Harmsworth publishing and business dynasty, the 4th son of Alfred Harmsworth. His notable brothers were Alfred Harmsworth, 1st Viscount Northcliffe, Harold Harmsworth, 1st Viscount Rothermere and Cecil Harmsworth, 1st Baron Harmsworth.
