Formed in 1895 to merge 5 millinery businesses known as Louise & Co., Merguerite and 'The Bonnet Box', all situated in London.
Sir Richard Woodman Burbidge, son of the first baronet, Sir Richard Burbidge (1847-1917), managing director of Harrods, 1890 to 1917. His son was Chairman of Harrods, and his grandson was both Managing Director and Chairman.
