Short Brothers (Rochester & Bedford) Ltd., 5 shilling ordinary shares, 19[38], no.5052, ornate border, red and black, very fine; together with a quantity of British certificates (99) including Cheque Bank Ltd., £100 bond, 1876, cancelled; St.Leonards Golf Club Ltd., 1926 and Standard Oil Company of England Ltd., 1910, all 20th century, several are post 1940, a useful and varied lot, many are very fine. Short Brothers was formed in 1908 and was the first company to make production aircraft. It was best known for its flying boats which were produced into the 1950's.
