Australia: Tasmanian Government Debenture, 1867, £100, no.877, signed by the Governor, Colonel Sir Thomas Browne and also Thomas D. Chapman as Colonial Treasurer, large format, blue, stamped PAID, good very fine and scarce.

Chapman was a merchant who entered politics in the 1850's, becoming Colonial Treasurer and also Premier of Tasmania in 1862, a position which he held for 18 months.
