1884 (29 Aug.) opened out envelope to Paris bearing official "I.G./Mail Matter" in oval in blue partly covered by French 25c. cancelled by part "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s. (8.9) with a second strike alongside and bearing, on the reverse, the despatch c.d.s., Customs Shanghai (4.9) and Paris arrival. There is also thick paper 3ca. orange-vermilion [11] cancelled by blue Peking seal but this does not belong to the envelope and the edge of the postmark filled in with blue crayon
