1878-83 The Large Dragon Issue
1 Candareen, Setting I
1879 (14 Oct.) opened-out Hall & Holtz envelope to Shanghai bearing horizontal strip of three 1ca. green [6-8] with side margin and cancelled by two neat strikes of the Tientsin seal type A and bearing, on the reverse, a good strike of the "customs/tientsin" despatch c.d.s. and blue "shanghai/local post" arrival (18.10) with delivery characters in orange crayon. A couple of minor age spots, nevertheless an attractive and appealing cover which is quite scarce with the small seal obliterator.

It is unusual to find this franking made up of 1ca. stamps as it was usual to use a single 3ca. stamp.
