A177 dated 21 June 1840, to Penrith, red Maltese Cross cancellation in an orange shade and matching straight line "tynemouth" (very rare on a Mulready) alongside, fine blue-green North Shields d.s. on reverse, opening well for display; small central stain from the seal visible on the front, otherwise fine and most unusually with the original letter enclosed.
