Siege of Mafeking, a letter from E.C.Ross, the local manager of the Standard Bank, offering a set of Mafeking currency to a Mr B.Phillips and dated Metropolitan Hotel, E.C., 1 September 1900. Mr Ross left Mafeking immediately after the siege, the letter has blue MAFEKING in top right corner, manuscript cancelled by Mr Ross. Also a letter written by Captain H.Greener, the Chief Paymaster, Mafeking, referring to the purchase of some siege currency and dated Government Offices, Bloemfontein, 24 July 1900. I addition are a photograph of Mr Ross printing the £1, the underground Bank, and a photograph of Captain Greener and Mr Ross
