Palestine Currency Board, a trial uniface for a proposed issue of £100, Jerusalem ND ( c.1938), green and pale orange, value in lilac guilloche at centre, the Al-Jazzar Mosque in Acre at left (the largest of all the Ottoman Mosques in Palestine), value at centre and each corner,
(Dabbah page 318, this is the Dabbah plate note, Pick unrecorded, TBB unrecorded) ink numeral'23' top left, ink date 18.3.38, low right. According to Dabbah it is likely that these designs were submitted for a new series of notes but it was decided in 1939 that the idea of having two series in circulation with different designs was not advisable and the designs were not adopted ( see Dabbah page 310 for detail). An exceptional example, most attractive and of the highest rarity. An important note for this lovely series
