Charles I (1625-49), Halfcrown, York, type 6, 14.98g, mm. lion, carolvs d g mag brit fran et hib rex, king on tall horse with mane in front, tail not between legs, ebor below, rev. christo avspice regno, garnished and crowned oval shield dividing crowned c and r, flowers in legend (N.2314; S.2868; Besly 3B; Bull 569), slightly bowed, the obverse toned with scratches by the tail, the reverse with minimal wear and considerable lustre, almost extremely fine
