Andronicus II and Michael IX (1295-1320), AV Hyperpyron, 4.45g, the Virgin orans within city walls, M on left, rev. the two emperors kneeling facing, being crowned by Christ standing between them (Sear 2396), the usual weakness, very fine, an AE Trachy, Thessalonica, large six-pointed star, rev. Michael being crowned by Andronicus, stars either side (Sear 2457 var.), another with Andronicus alone (Bendall & Donald 14), an AE Assarion, Constantinople, facing bust of Archangel Michael, rev. figures of the emperors being crowned by Christ between them (Sear 2435), a Tetarteron (B&D 46), Andronicus III (1328-1341), Assarion, Thessalonica, emperor standing facing, rev. cross fleury (Sear 2481; LPC p.126, 13), and a Stamenon, emperor on horseback right, rev. St Demetrios on horseback right (Sear 2499;LPC p.243, 15), fair to about very fine (7)
