'In recognition of services during the recent operations on the North-West Frontier of India

Lieutenant-Colonel James Henry Hugo, D.S.O., born July, 1870; educated at Foyle College, Londonderry, and St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London; entered the Indian Medical Service, Netley, 1896; commissioned Lieutenant, January 1897; served on the North-West Frontier, and awarded the D.S.O.; promoted Captain, 28.1.1900; Major, 29.7.1908; Lieutenant-Colonel, 29.7.1916; appointed Major Residency Surgeon, Kashmir, and Superintending Surgeon, Jammu & Kashmir States.
